Professional Eye Care & Quality Eyewear for all the Family

Vision Aid Overseas

670 million people - 10% of the world's population - are disadvantaged by poor vision and a lack of glasses. Vision Aid Overseas is an international charity dedicated to transforming access to eye care services in developing countries.

Their mission is to transform access to eye care services for people in developing countries by establishing Vision Centres, training healthcare workers and utilising the expertise of volunteers to undertake outreach programmes away from existing facilities. We collect used spectacles for the charity which are then sorted and labelled by volunteer prisoners. Charity No 1081695 - click for more information (web site)

GOBAITH i ETHIOPIA - HOPE for ETHIOPIA (LINK) a local charity, chaired by John Smith, whose aim is to support the needy children of Ethiopia in particular a High School and Youth Centre and Library in the  Northern Ethiopian city of Mekelle.

The charity has recently enabled the Centre to revive a water supply for the benefit of those using the Centre and the local community. It supports a feeding programme in the nursery of the High School and has now agreed to support a similar programme in another nursery high in the mountains close to the Eritrean border.

The charity relies heavily on the generosity of the public in the Wrexham and Flintshire areas.
