OCT Retinal Scans
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) - often simply called OCT - is an advanced imaging technology that enables us to capture highly detailed, cross-sectional scans of the back of your eye.
This allows us to view the different layers of the retina and optic nerve in remarkable detail, far beyond what can be seen with standard examination methods.
Why should I get an OCT?
By using OCT, we can often detect early signs of eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease up to three years earlier than with traditional techniques. The scan also allows us to compare precise measurements and images over time, helping us monitor even the smallest changes to your eye health between visits.
The procedure is quick, completely painless, and provides instant results that your Optometrist will review and explain to you during your appointment.
OCT examinations are part of our Private Eye Exams, and can be part of our NHS Eye Exams at an additional charge.
